Case study: Multifunctional floating structures in the North Sea

Online interactive Floating Future Research Project case study meeting connecting researchers with societal partners. Organized by our Action Research Coordinator Christiaan Weiler in cooperation with ClimateCafé Floris Boogaard and Sidney Jon Stax. A total of 35 people attended. With three excellent speakers Marjoleine Nascimento da Silva -Karper, Christiaan van Sluis and Floor Spaargaren we explored possible multifunctional floating structures in the North Sea from a governance, ecological and engineering perspective. Questions that were discussed include: what is possible, what is really needed, what is desirable, what are the opportunities for ecological restoration? and many other questions. We were excited to see the majority of the 10 Floating Future PhD students attending the meeting. Joep van der Zanden, Rutger de Graaf, Tjeerd Bouma, Margo Van Den Brink, Olaf Waals, Jeroen Rijke
